The Saha Research Group is focused to develop new synthetic methodologies to access biologically interesting molecules and to find their applications in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. In Saha’s laboratory, one objective in part, will be to explore the reactivity of strained organic compounds and subsequently to find useful transformations in the realm of synthetic organic chemistry. Another focus will be directed to synthesize natural product-like molecules and functionalization of biomolecules. All the projects in the laboratory will use modern synthetic organic chemistry and touchdown areas like organometallic chemistry, catalysis, boron chemistry, carbohydrate chemistry etc. as an integral part of the research program. Students/post-docs in the laboratory will get rigorous training in synthetic organic chemistry and flair of medicinal chemistry and chemical biology related areas through collaborative projects.
