Jaideep obtained his B.Sc (Chemistry) from Calcutta University and M.Sc (Chemistry) from IIT Madras. In 2006 he started his Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the University of Connecticut, USA under the supervision of Prof. Mark W. Peczuh, where he worked on the design and synthesis of novel ring-expanded analogues of amino-sugars and phosphine catalysis. After finishing Ph.D. in 2012, he joined the group of Prof. Peter Wipf at the University of Pittsburgh, USA as the post-doctoral fellow. In 2013, he was awarded prestigious Marie-Curie post-doctoral fellowship from European Commission and moved to the Chemistry Research Laboratory, University of Oxford, UK where he worked with Prof. Stuart Conway. He started his independent career at CBMR Lucknow in Dec 2016 in the division of Molecular Synthesis and Drug-Discovery. His research interests lie in the development of new reactions, stereoselective synthesis of natural product-like molecules and biologically interesting compounds, new methods for carbohydrate synthesis and functionalization, synthesis of molecular probes for medicinal chemistry applications.
